They grimaced when I took off my shoes
It happened last summer. A group of us were at the beach for a swim party.
Everyone was having a great time, laughing and playing around in the water.
I sat down to take off my shoes and join the fun.
Ahhh, there was Nancy, the woman I’d been trying to meet for weeks.
She was standing right next to my beach chair. Nancy gasped and stepped away.
"Oh, my gosh! Your nails are a mess!"
I’d noticed for several months that my big toe nail wasn't as healthy
appearing as others. I just ignored it, thinking it would go away. It seemed
to be getting worse instead of better. My toe didn’t really hurt much,
but Nancy was right. It looked bad.
Nancy turned and walked away. I watched her move with the easy grace of ocean
waves. My hopes were crushed.
I sat there awhile feeling depressed. Then, a shy girl came up to me. I’d
noticed her before, but she was always so quiet. She was always in the background,
watching, and never saying much. Frankly, I just forgot about her.
She knelt down in the sand and took my feet in her soft hands. The sun
was shining on her silky hair, as she looked at my nails for a minute.
Then she looked up at me. “John, I used to have unsightly nails but
I got Zetaclear, and look at my nails now."
I looked, and then suddenly realized how pretty she was, especially her
eyes. Her eyes were warm and beautiful.
She smiled a sweet smile, stood, and started away. “Wait,”
I yelled after her. “I don’t even know your name.”
She stopped for a moment. There was a twinkle in her brown eyes. “My
name is Adele. Give me a call if you want help finding the Zetaclear.”

Comments about this video:
This is my favorite Zappa song. My dad loves Zappa and the funny thing is my dad used to look just like this picture of Frank Zappa when he had more hair. They could be brothers for sure! L-head' I see that u tried to put out the best a-bum Zappa created. ain't it a bitch that they chopped it up. U did your best. keep it up. Frank was a genious."The Price of meat has just gone up and your old Lady has just gone down..." "But I got a Crystal Ball...". Frank kicked Lowell George out of the Mothers.. for writing "Willin"" lol... so funny... gotta luv Franks leads.. Genius.. period. soy el hno de esta chica tan guapetona me llamo javi y con respecto a esta cancion puedo decir que frank era un verdadero monstruo de la musica yo le conoci personalmente y me di un par de homenajes o diez con el a el le gustaba que los amigos le llamasemos paco sobre todo que lo llamasemos pacome. From some of the comments I read on Zappa videos, it seems like most Zappa fans started listening to him at a younger age, I was 16 and my first Zappa album was Joe's Garage. What a jam!! I've been listening to frank since I was 13. 29 now. I just can't get tired of it. R.I.P. Frank!! One of the grooviest people to have EVER lived!!This song comes off as like a hint towards Zoot Allures' sound in my opinion. The way the sound of beginning is at least... I will say love all of his stuff... though I can't say I enjoy 200 Motels or his orchestra stuff... BUT THIS MAN MADE ME WANT TO EXPLORE JAZZ AND DO-WAP. Really the song isn't about drugs but the Gurus and self help lecturers that was becoming so common about this time.
Tina Turner singin'the 'look here brother'is my fave! What ever happened to Tina? I guess she's like 100yrs old by now.
YES!!!!!! Frank Zappa a modern day musical GENIUS. His music will live on and on way way after our grand grand children have died. I was blessed to have seen him in concert...-twice. Frank was against all kinds of illicit drugs. According to him, he only tried marijuana a few times before deciding he didn't like it. He believed you could achieve the same effects you'd get from drugs with music, which is one reason why his music is so trippy... So no, he didn't have an acid dealer, but if he did he most certainly would've told him to piss off! the song is about drug dealers...but yet you would be kicked out of franks band if you did any kind of drugs. ..and furthermore he believed that drinking or taking drugs was no excuse at all to behave like an asshole. may be tough to wrap your head around, but some people are capable of producing elaborate and trippy-sounding music without any chemical assistance. I might refer you to side 2 of Freak Out. THAT is undeniably trippy "Suzy Creamcheese, honey, what's got into ya?". And he was seriously addicted to(legal cigarettes) nicotine which contributed, sadly, to his early demise. But he was also a perfectionist and as such drug-addled musicians were not part of his gigging. Working and creating are two different animals. He was clearly influenced, though, by acid rock, even if he was being ironic about it on some level. He was on another level, but I think a trip or two could have launched his shit into a whole new galaxy. Could have worked the other way, though, I suppose. In any case, he made music that was awesome to trip to.
Epic version! Been hearing it since 1978. Other live versions have the added value of "improvisations" by sax & piano performers, and of Mr. FZ himself, and some, but I find this version just magnificent. Thanks for the post.

Comments about this video: Where's the "Zappa" of today? No one stands up and jamz this great anymore! Don't waste your time on me!!love to think that Zappa & Duke are at some great jam session in a universe far away from here...The price of meat has just gone up...and your old lady has just gone down! Priceless lyrics all the way through this song, and love the music. These guys wailed. Woah!! Never heard a wah effect on a Sax! That was sweet! Ps: For the idiot saying that Zappa couldn't do jazz you clearly don't know Zappa music. Well...either that, or your just musically naive. He was far beyond jazz. Waaaaaayyyyy Far beyond jazz. Dude...he even composed scores. So don't you dare even think about belittle him. Wow ,you are FZ fans and you all got sucked in to the very obvious trollers, They must be because nobody is that deaf, dumb and blind to such a talent. Or maybe they were once "Disco Boy" or worse..."Punky"..Just let it go guys..unless you fucked a dyke named "Freddie" and your not sure if you are a boy or a girl but now you smell like vasoline.I had to quote the bands"Break Songs" so if you are not a "Troller"You would have easier rebuttals. However if you are trollers? Hats off for fooling some. For you clowns who think Zappa is god try listening to a real guitar composer / player... youtube watch?v=RMj-htWGGq0. 4:51 to 5:00 might be one of the best little riffs ever played on the electric guitar, that's the goddamn truth.Great instrumentalist but lyrical retard no matter his political preference. And please skip your R-L garbage! Zappa was only musically intelligent to those that invited the obscurely perverse or poetically impaired into their drug /alcohol infested lives! Love his beats but his lyrics invited too many turds to the scene of an accident. As Zappa was famously anti-drug (and alcohol excess), your misaimed rant has little chance of hitting a target. his lyrics are the best thing about him for me similar to that of lou reeds the way he would simply tell it although franks better more spoken poetry sort of thing. theyre were many people who couldve used this advice back then, w "mini mansons" and "timothy learys" and that guy who had brian (of the beach boys) so screwed up in the head tripping, these guys shouldve been put in chains and strobes and given eccesive amounts of BAD LSD w room full of rats themselves ?
zappas family were military intelligence, look up 'inside the LC"..i think you'll find it rather interesting...the CIA invented the hippie to throw the attention off the Professors n the educated protesting the illegal Vietnam war in early '65...the Govt became worried...suddenly the hippie and LSD appeared out of absolutely nowhere,Zappa worked for the CIA,his music was a front. 100 albums of work is quite a front. That's like a straight guy blowing the entire Detroit lions team including the coaches to cover up being a packers fan. Doesn't make much sense.George: Frank was waiting for you upstairs to keep playing that mother fucking music!!!! Rest in rock!!!!!When I want to listen to great musicians I go to jazz. When I want to listen to great rock I go to the Allman Brothers. I just don't have time for this crap.I'd like to see you pick up a guitar and play like that. Why even make comments on here if you don't like Zappa. Go choke on a peach. Classic? Just because it didn't get a lot of radio airtime, it does not mean any of his music was bad. Zappa was over too many people's heads for it to go mainstream. Zappa was a composer, not a caterer. He didn't have to make music for the radios. He did fine without them. He recorded over 60 albums! He wrote music that only the best could play.Zappa was unique, I'll give you that. Zappa was a good composer, not great. He was definitely not a great guitar player. There are many dozens of guitarists who would have made his songs much better. You make him sound like he's on the level of Coltrane. He's not.He could, particularly referring to this performance, be mocking the legions of people who consistently fail to grasp the thing that was Zappa.Crap that influenced the Beatles and most bands that have extremely talented musicians. Also AB sucked after Duane died which shows how depended on him they were.Name one song that Zappa wrote that is a true classic? AB was still good but without Duane I agree it was not the same. Betts was and excellent song writer. They did not suck and don't today. Haynes and Trucks are an great guitar duo. Zappa took his cue from the likes of Davis and other fusion pioneers but never achieved the same level of music. You're fucking insane and fucking stupid. 1. Zappa wrote ALBUMS not songs like you stupid Almonds Brothers 2. You want a song? Valley Girl. 3. He EXCEEDED "the likes of Davis". Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch? Jazz From Hell? 4. "Davis" wasn't his main influence, classical music and Edgard Varèse were his influences. 5. Zappa and Vai > Haynes and Fucks. peaches en regalia has gotten some acclaim over the years, I could call it a classic, though probably not to rock and rollers. More of a jazz band song. I just enjoy the wide array of musics that FZ touched.Don't get me wrong, when Duane was alive they were fucking insane; Ramblin' Man is one of my favorite songs; but don't EVER say they were better than Zappa. Take your medications and your preparations and ram it up your snout! Don't waste your time one me. Whoa! I'm a classical & Jazz zealot. That being said, I have an ear & the ability to see the high level of difficulty it takes to be a member in this band, on the same demanding level of Steely Dan & The Allman Bros Band. If you want to define crap, then reference today's auto tuned electronic genre, and rap (c-rap) then I'll side with you. You mean it's all subjective. You don't like Zappa? Cool. I feel bad for you, but cool, carry on and listen to what you do. Also, you're no one to bash on Zappa. Release some music and have it be critically acclaimed and them maybe, just maybe, we'll take you seriously. This is classic, I get such a great buzz from this music. So much charisma and natural humour. You guys should check out Discharge Lounge from the UK, the only band for years brave enough to proudly present their off the wall humour and top tunes with as much panache as Zappa and the Mothers. AND, anyone who loves Zappa and hasn't yet heard of Beer for Dolphins or Mike Kinneally should, by all means, check 'em out!!...they used to cover some of Frank's more complex stuff. I have one video I shot of Beer for Dolphins on here, unless someone took it off...so worth watching!!Thank you.! Checked Mike Keneally & Beer for Dolphins and I must say NICE! Love the zappaesk with a touch of Frippishness sound. Again thank you.Sloth Jockey's an ass Frank wasn't trying he just was cool Let's see you do better, oh wait you can't because you're a SLOTH. Where else could you possibly go to hear an electrified Bass Clarinet solo? Ian Underwood nails it. Ruthie is amazing as well!Well, I like Frank a lot, I think he was brilliant, but I think his solos go on too long, they're sloppy and not very melodic...he's a genius, but overrated as a guitarist in my opinion...now Steve Vai, on the other hand...Yea, you're partially right but the thing is, Frank is so "overrated" because he is the one that composes every part for every instrument in his songs, not because of his guitar solos, that's what I heard. And Steve Vai is too technical like Joe Satriani and these guys ): I mean, their guitars literally sing, but all that virtuoso stuff is way too much technic and no feeling. Yes, Frank was an extremely gifted writer...very melodic when he wanted to be as far as his orchestrations and the parts he composed for the other members. You can easily see that Jean Luc Ponte and George Duke can improvise their asses off,in fact, I wondered if Frank had written out some of Ponte's solos, they were so PERFECT, but Frank's solos, not so much."Them or Us" was an example of Frank, Dweezel and Vai at their very best,I really love that record, I've FORCED friends to listen to it! Shit, just noticed I spelled Jean-Luc Ponty's name wrong...kind of detracts from my credibility when I can't spell the guy's fucking name, eh?Frank had some really good solos, and some not as good solos, but that's because he didn't do the same solo every time. He improvised on a lot of shit. When that happens on guitar, you can find yourself in a bad place sometimes. It can also lead to amazing solos. it's because most of his (best and most memorable) music isn't guitar heavy or dependent/centered.
The clarinet player is like 30 years ahead of it's time fashion-wise ! He looks like something out of a grunge band lol.
For anyone who doesn't like FZ, the old homily comes to mind. '"Opinions are like A-holes. Everyone has one, & some are full of s**t". You are entitled to yours, but lots of folks think FZ was a genius. Your opinion means zip to me. Saw Zappa in Salt Lake, the Trubador, and some other L.A. dive I can't remember. Please, everyone, should have respect for this most fantastic musician/composer that ever lived. There's too little one can do about those people. I'm a musician myself, and sometimes I think I'll have to educate my public just to actually HAVE a public. They're too shallow to understand anything that goes beyond their ever-visited formulae. Too bad. this is the problem with jazz-oriented musicians...jamming a lot with fellow musicians can make u forget u r playing music for people, not only for colleagues...(that said, I think Zappa was rather people oriented but not mainstream). alguns estão acostumados a ouvir lesmas cantando, outros estão acostumados a ouvir Deuses tocando, nem sempre lesmas entendem Deuses... mas Deuses sempre saberão que lesmas são lesmas xD entende pq não gosta de Beatles? tem um péssimo gosto por música haha. Ive tried to like frank zappas music many many times. I dont know anyone who actually "likes" the music. Its just...not good at all. a lot of people watching this video like his music. We don't watch Justin timberlake videos and complain about your music... Let me take this a step further and dissect for you why I'm so arpeggio-horny, maybe you can agree with me... It's a chord...split up into several notes...which make it very beautiful sounding, very interesting because when an arpeggio doesn't just go up and down without any contrary movement in between I guess I can see how that can get a little old, but when you have diversely played arpeggios that have stuff in between it becomes interesting because it's melodically beautiful and confusing. I honestly don't understand how you could think that rhythmic arpeggios over a very basic triple chug riff with hint of melody to it coupled with a stronger mutated version of that riff used in conjunction with it isn't a unique (if not at least very obscurely used) and beautifully artistic thing to do, is it really not? Is rehashed blues leads really what you find genius? Because that's been around a long time before him, I'm just saying. Am I the only one with an opinion here or just the only guy who knows anything about the instrumental end of music? Because that's all I'm arguing here, I didn't do this to promote my obviously superior guitar playing skills, that was just a challenge I accepted and totally crushed any of Frank's work in this particular song, maybe there's a song I don't know about that he did but in all honesty you've got to admit, I am the man here, I defeated everyone who argued against me with logic and work. and you can all dislike my videos as much as you please, I encourage it. By all means sift through them all, I'm not just into creating music exclusively, but a lot of other shit too as time will show on my channel. Not advertizing, just saying, I saw all your dislikes Zappa fans, I just wanted to say thanks for viewing. \m/. LOL and really? "Wax shit" is the best you could come up with? I've heard better from smarter, how about "Wav Syntax Error"? or "Frank Syntax" hah, that one's my favorite. You should graduate middle school and then come back to this thread, son. Also, don't forget to try rock/metal music, stick to the underground shit ;). Ah the illogical rantings of a poser Zappa fan, the topic of animal fucking, imagine the comedic irony here... a Zappa fan attempting to psychologically analyze a free thinker going against the grain with actual work to show for, hah!
